Mongolian Wild Ass / Hémione (ou âne) sauvage de Mongolie / Khulan / Монгол хулан

The Mongolian Khulan, also known as Mongolian Wild Ass (Equus hemionus hemionus), is a wild Equid mainly living in south of Mongolia (with small populations in north of China: Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia), still not well known.

The Mongolian Khulan is listed in both the IUCN Red List as Endangered and is included in Appendix I of the CITES and in Appendix II of the CMS.

*монгол хулан (or хулан адуу): 1) монгол хулан means the Mongolian Khulan (Khulan de Mongolie), while 2) хулан адуу means the Khulan-horse like, indeed "адуу" means "horse" in Mongolian language (хулан адуу = Khulan-horse).
